They grow just one onion. You can harvest the seed but it may not be true to the variety you want. It is always good to buy new seed from a good source.

you can use a 'round-up' type of spray and plant afterword. Read the label on the spray to learn more. Most require at least 7 or more days after spraying before planting.

You can do that but in my opinion they would not get any bigger as the onion is a member of the allium family and it produces the onion.bulb the first year and then the energy in that bulb is then used for flowering in the second year. So basically you are buying onion flower bulbs. So if you plant that onion it will most likely grow into a either a white or purple globe shaped flower. You could always grow it and let it flower and save the seed for the following year :)

I feel like a right idiot, I just thought I had to plant an onion and it would grow more onions, like a potato, but I just dug up the plant and there was nothing there! Then my neighbor told me that you are supposed to use the onion seeds :( oh well still have 6 garlic plants and one surviving potato plant.
