@MartinEugeneHarp congratulations! you have been successfully been brainwashed by Digidesign into thinking that you need all that to make good music. Trust me, I was a gear-slut just like you, until I noticed that composing / making music is all about creativity. u dont need to spend gazillion dollars to go HD. you need $8000 or £5000 just to get a single PCI-x core card alone. can you imagine what you can do with that money with LE or M-Powered? We make music with our talent. not with the gear!

@eerereps and tell me, what do ASIO drivers have to do with PT? The ASIO drivers are only for using other software with the Digi interface.
Also, in HD you get more than "just" ADC and more tracks... you get more automation features, more editing features, TDM plugins... the list is bigger and better than you seem to realize. but I'm assuming if your knowledge of PT is this limited, you might not need anything more than LE...
LE track limit is 48 tracks or 64 with the music production toolkit.
