Doing a testrun with Akai MPC2500 for beats, Elektron MonoMachine for synthlines and some other gear. It's stuff I just programmed a few hours before ;).

  • THANK YOU:)

  • @bembeleee You're welcome ;)

  • Which OS are u running in the MPC2500? Is it Akai OS or JJ OS?

Im looking to upgrade from my 500 to either the 2500 or 5000, but the OS bugs in the 5000 are putting me off. So it looks like the 2500 is top of my list for the moment.

I was thinking the 2500 and the Dave Smith Tetra would be a nice combo (I would love a monomachine tho lol)

Nice vid man. Very dark! Plus those drums sound awesome!

  • Thanks for your reply!

Its running akai OS 1.23 and does everything I want it to. I've got the MPC for 4 years and a bit and it froze twice in that period (with older OS). It kept running though, the knobs were disconnected somehow so I couldnt stop it ;-).

For me the 5000 has no extra's. The 8 audio outs and the 4 midi outs do the job for me.

Peace, good luck with getting a 2500 ;-)

  • are those beatsounds integrated in the mpc? i make also elektro and i want to go to hit the live performance mode. the beat sounds real nice

  • I have to add the beats go through a compressor and all the sounds are seperated into six channels on the mixer.

Look closely and you'll see what is where.

I seperate kick, hihats, claps, snares, toms and rims/cowbells into seperate channels to better mix them. Also routing these sounds into the compressor is made easier like this. Some channels are parallel compressed. This means the original signal goes directly into main mix but also to the compressor and then back to the main mix.

  • is this a cs1x in the background?

  • hot jam, cool sound

  • Got my 2500 last week

Aint had much time to play with it due to finishing up with college for xmas and decorating my spare room (new studio). BUT, the little time I've had with it has been amazing!

The workflow beats my 500 hands down lol

I havent really seen any vids using the 2500 for this type of music, so your vid really inspired me to get it and I'm glad I did!

    Thanks man!

  • thats not water ;-)
