The Microsoft Common User Interface (CUI), a Microsoft Connected Health Platform Solution Accelerator, provides User Interface Design Guidance and Toolkit controls that address a wide range of patient safety concerns for healthcare organizations worldwide, allowing a new generation of safer, more usable and compelling health applications to be quickly and easily created. Visit our public site at www.mscui.net

Office Doctor is the codename for a project that will release a Solution Accelerator in 2010 that shows how elements of a clinical documentation and workflow solution could be built with Microsoft Office and the CUI toolkit, using industry standards (OOXML, HL7 CDA, SNOMED CT) for improved interoperability, and a medical terminology web service from Health Language Inc. This solution concept should be seen as part of an overall EMR or practice management workflow, not as a stand-alone technology.

The same approach that is used to connect to the terminology service (web services in an S+S model) could be used to integrate with other clinical systems such as EMR, ePrescription, Practice Management or with PHRs.

For more information on CHP solution accelerators, guidance and tools please visit the Health ICT Resource Center at www.microsoft.com/HealthICT
