Here's part 1 of my playthrough of Powerslave (Exhumed in Europe) for the Saturn. Every Transmitter Piece and every Team Doll is collected.

Levels: Ramses Tomb, Karnak, Karnak Sanctuary, Sobek Pass
Items: Pistol, Machinegun, Sandals of Inkumptet, Transmitter Piece 1

Note that these videos are edited from hours upon hours of gameplay. This is first and hopefully only game that it's a must to have an edit. Sorry. :|

You see, this game can be frustrating on the Saturn with the random powerups. Where ammo was more common on the PSX, it can be very rare on the Saturn. So this game is almost impossible to play through a stream of levels without having to die to start over.

Also, platform jumping can be quite flaky. Being near the edge of a platform can cause you to accidentally slip off.

These problems can make the game impossible at random.

  • Nope, it uses the Slavedriver engine.

  • @elbryan42 Sure? It wouldn't be BUILD ENGINE?

  • It's the Slavedriver engine for sure (it was made specifically for the console versions of Powerslave). The PC version uses the Build engine.

  • @invoke09 but im not just saying that just because im a sony fan im a big sega fan as well but im just saying that since half the FPS games on saturn are either terrible or not perfect and most FPS games on PSX are more playable (except hexen)

    this version has a lack of ammo which is more difficult

    it is playable but it just seem the PSX version gives you more ammo and + slightly better controls since it has more buttons and could be even more playable if it uses the analog sticks

  • Those levels are different and easier than in PSX version...oh god, I want my childhood back, and I want Sega Saturn!

  • @SEEDSOFEXODUS This definitely doesn't look like the Build engine

  • Lobotomy were masters at codeing 3d first person shooters for the saturn,along with this,duke nukem 3d & Quake,they really showed what the saturn was capable of when it came to 3d FPSs.The system was a 2d powerhouse compared to other consoles of the time but for people to say it couldn't do 3d like the PS is bullshit,it just took developers who knew how to scrape every last bit of power out of it & lobotomy done that better than most!
