This is a "digital TV" test that was conducted on December 2, 2008 at 5:28 PM EST in the Washington, DC TV market. This video came from the analog feed of WETA, the PBS affiliate. If you saw this announcement, then you "failed' the DTV test. However, many outlying cable systems that don't have a direct feed from the station (such as mine) still run the analog feed since their main digital feed does not yet simulcast the analog programming. It starts off as an advertisement for a Celtic Woman special, then to the DTV announcement, then to the next show.

  • Depends on the station. WETA is still operating in analog as of March 2009.

  • that 6 beeps sounds like 2 beggining notes of jingle bells

  • Those six bleeps were to bleep out profanity.
