In response to your first question this car DVD is GPS compatable, which means that it will work with GPS software but does not actually come with software. It should work with any GPS software for Australia.

This comes with a standard 2DIN sized faceplate. I am not sure if a faceplate adapter for the passat is required, however you might like to check with your car owner's manual.
