  • the instructions on the glue container says to chamfer the pipe. Does one have to do that?

  • I've never in 30 years had a leak by just getting rid of the burrs.

  • I can't have made sense, I mean as well as removing burrs etc & using primer & cement etc it says to chamfer the end of the pipe as well - is this necessary or OTT or counterproductive? ie could create less of a seal by increasing gap between pipe and joint?

  • As I said before, I've never done it for 30 years. Never a leak. Passed hundreds of pressure tests required for permits. Surely that answers your question.

  • ok. thank you. Is life ok for you at present coz you seem a little angry in some of your responses. I am a young woman who is trying to sort something out on my own & thought I would ask what I thought was a reasonable question. I will possibly think twice about that in future.

  • Everything is fine with me. If anything, I'd say you're hypersensitive to answers. There is no anger, malice or any other emotion in my two answers to you. Just the facts.
