  • I just finished intro to ethics.. now these names mentioned aren't so arbitrary. I'm on part IV. I can't wait for spring so I can ride again.

  • That was interesting to see John Sutherland speaking. I wonder what his first impression of the book was; he's kind of portrayed as immature and stubborn, a bit of a blockhead, in the book. At least that's how I took it. Rather, that's how I think Pirsig saw him, but I could sort of identify with him, I guess. I hate getting bogged down in details, also. I'd much rather just take my car to a mechanic, pay my money, and go about my business. I don't hate technology; I just don't care how it works

  • @timnypafford i wish he was writing a third final book, zen and the art of will always be .... more original then lila? But i think lila has taught me more so far... got 150 pages to go, and im sad to know thats all hes got left :(

  • @antokindness i feel the same way:)

  • @lifeinpictures lol i had similar idea before reading... coincidentally i read The Way of Zen by Alan watts just before reading Zen and the Art of MM and it helped. But I don't think you have to read on Zen Buddhism first, but read with an open mind. Curious to hear your thoughts afterwards...

  • He tells the naked truth. Even the truth on creativity and sad but true on academic philosophy. I know it (got a PhD). Everything is exactly true in every little bit.

  • I loved the book very much. but I found Lila to be totally life changing. If you have not read that 1, please do. You will be very glad you did. I read it in three days and wanted more.

  • This is a very interesting book. I read it first in 1975 and I'm reading it again now, this time with a little more understanding.

  • I live in Rochester and sometimes wonder if I've ever met Lila or the lawyer she was involved with.
