David Santee 1981 US Figure Skating Championships

David Santee, World Silver Medalist in 1981 and 4th place Olympian in 1980, skates one of his best performances of his career at the 1981 US Figure Skating Championships and I'm sharing it with you! It's been really great getting to know him (he's my coach and I'm very thankful for that!). His career was sooooo awesome. He did soooooo well. Now getting taught by him is really awesome!

This video is weird. Without the ambient sounds like the applause and the commentaries, it doesn't feel real. The worst part is... the sanitized music is not exactly in sync with the skating! I think It is a tiny bit off. The end result for me is like watching a badly dubbed foreign movie. Please, please, bring back the original audio!

This is the original audio from the a DVD containing video from the VHS it was on. However, I am not sure if it was indeed tampered with, but I'm pretty sure this is how it was originally. My coach is awesome, isn't he? Sorry I couldn't bring the original feel, but if there are more videos I can get I can try!

You are very fortunate to have David Santee as your coach. He is a very important part of figure skating history.

Where did you find this without commentary? Is it one of the videos made for the USFSA?

I actually have no idea. David has this on VHS i think and then a fellow skater's parent changed it to DVD...its quite weird...then all I did was put it on youtube. Thx for the comment tho!

A clearn 3F from David!!! This is by far the best performance I have seen him give. How impressive! His silver at the Worlds subsequent to this, though, was a gift...

While David did 6 triples in this program 4 of them were triple toe loops, (this was before the Zayak rule 1982).
