  • Hmmm. The american version was more flashy... But I like this better. The other one took 10 fucking years.

  • FFVII. Probably the ONLY FF game in which the basic American version was better than the original Japanese version. Nowadays the American versions are quite inferior unless you get the International version of the game (still puts you SOL for FFXII-IZJS).

  • dude..it's not about whether it's "realistic" or not

it's a game for god-sake, it's an ART-form, and it's supposed to be FUN, cool, whatever!

I honestly am THANKFUL for the US-version Supernova (the 'current' one), rather than this...boring lame shitty super-short animation...make it LESS EPIC!!

  • I noticed that Sephiroths failed Ex Burst in Dissidia looks alot like this...

also I prefer this Supernova over the ridicoulus solar system destroying Supernova.

  • @ZaikuZERO I mean probably like everyone else who saw that attack for the first time - i thought shiiit - how are they gonna recover from this one? I thought it was one of those scripted cutscene attacks that ends up ending the battle, until i saw the numbers in the low thousands at the end and the battle continuing

  • @PhantomSephiroth Well only one logical explanation: This is final "FANTASY". The RPG series where you can bring a Sword in a Gun fight and win.

  • This seems way more accurate, rather than the obscured US version. It seems to rely on a real supernova, rather than a fantasy-based doomsday thought, though I liked the US version way more Sephiroth-ish, this would've been a perfect animation to show after the first supernova were summoned, rather than seeing all the planets go by one by one... It looks nice here too!

  • But...but...The Sun can't go supernova!

  • @NeoTStyle But yet that logic is not worth waiting a minute and a half for.

  • In the new Super Nova the party actually gets hit/obliterated by the expanding Sun along with Earth. It makes sense that they take a lot of damage.

In this one it's like we see how a couple of planets disappear in a gleaming light. Then it cuts back to the party and they take damage for some reason.
