I was curious what actually happens during the process of taking a picture with my rig so I decided to film it. I've read about the metering pre-flashes and all that but when actually taking pictures, I can't see it. I can see the autofocus light occasionally.

This video has a full speed picture being taken, as well as what it looks like at 1200 frames per second.

  • Neat! a camera filming a camera shooting a camer... er.

What material do you generally use for your "DIY lightbox"?

    Oh, and FUAROCK.

  • @TheHiddenPart I wasn't able to type earlier when I made the first reply so I deleted it and am doing this one. The light box is fairly simple. A white piece of posterboard for the back, a sonic tray for the bottom, and 2 shiny reflective lids from those disposable pans popular for holiday meals. The lids are curved slightly and held in place by the sonic tray. The tray is elevated off the ground a bit by a cardboard box. see ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=1118339 for more info
