Where dies the tracks go @ 1:45?

Gotta love those twin level crossings at the Dendy/New Streets roundabout. I couldn't believe that the first time I drove through there five years ago - huge busy roundabout with a 2-track suburban railway line through the guts of it.

Loved it!

@fku8447 Nicely answered... I started driving in the PTC days and was recruited from an internal position. It has very much changed since then. I would suggest that anybody interested in a driving career should monitor the Metro website as I believe they call for drivers twice a year.

@fku8447 cheers

Well I applied once - you have to apply on the website for the company (Metro in this case, but I applied when it was Connex). They'll put you through a test online if your application is successful and then you get picked with about 200 others for interview. Then if you are successful in interview, you get to go through about 72 weeks of training. Beyond that - no idea what happens. I got to the interview and was not successful. You also have to be 21 at least. I was 18. 19 now :D

And mine.

how'd you become a driver?
your living my dream.
didn't someone make a film of the whole railway from Flinders St to Sandringham, and sped up?

@KentAllard Hi There, I'm not sure what other members have uploaded to You Tube, but I do know that 'Channel 5 Productions' released a video of the Sandy line from the Drivers Cab in around the late 90's. They did a few lines including, Upfield, Frankston and Glen Waverley. I have VHS copies of each and they may even be released on DVD by now(?). Thanks for your comment, Cheers.
