I appeared on People are talking, a daytime talk show produced in San Francisco, in 1990. My son, Samuel and I appeared a few months after arriving home from Brasil. An interesting tidbit, during and after the show, Jean Smart and I were discussing international adoption. I was impressed that she seemed to be earnestly interested in adopting, but as the years went by, I began to think she was just showing polite interest that day in the studio. As it turns out, Jean Smart just adopted a daughter last year (2009) from China. Congratulations Jean!
