Hybrid Electric Chopper. The rear wheel has permanent magnets embedded in it. The wheel is then attached to a large ball bearing ring similar to that of a skateboard but much larger and much stronger. The outer part of the ring is attached to the swing arm. The other side of the swing arm supports the wires that the direct current passes through. That causes the wheel with the magnets to spin in the direction of the current. In theory this propulsion method should be very efficient if you can control the amount of current going through the wires and assuming you have a great battery pack.

There is also a mini gas generator that charges the batteries but only turns itself on at low speeds. This is just a concept I do not claim to be an engineer but would be interested in hearing from others on weather or not this could be a viable form of propulsion.

  • The only issue with having it completely electric is that having the noise is a safety feature for people who drive and don't pay attention.

  • Thanks Guys! Its still in working progress though. Just a concept.

  • @DETE2197 Thank god someone said that, and articulated it well. I hate that mentality of "loud pipes saves lives" I have ridden both also, and in the end, you have to be defensive, and ride like no one sees you.

  • @chidi21 I've been riding for several years and have ridden loud bikes and bikes that are real quiet. That being said I've seen no difference in the stupidity level of other drivers. And I definitely don't rely on loud sound to keep me alive. In fact what I've found, the majority of riders who claim that "loud pipes save lives" don't mind riding like their own life isn't valuable. As a harley rider myself I would love to ride this bike and look forward to the future of motorcycling.

  • @celainea

HYDROLICS WILL SAVE THE DAY !

    thumbs up

  • I love the magnetic motor, but instead of a gas powered charger, what about solar or wind?

  • @maoristereo In areas of heavy snow or with high speed bumps, the low to the ground concept could be a problem. I know the new low to the ground vehicles, high center in my area.

  • @chidi21 That's an easy one to solve, just put some speakers with a continuous playing Harley-like motor noise!

(This feels as strange to me as those bizarre artificial camera shutter noises they put on non-prof cameras...)

  • this looks great and could start an energy saving trend!

  • Very Cool

  • reminds me of the suzuki biplane concept.....

  • keeping that low center of gravity is a definite plus, excelent work
