I remember hearing her perform this at the fox theatre in the 70s. At 15, I cried. I am saddened that she never got the part in the movie. What a tragedy. I would love to have had a copy on DVD.

I LOVE STEPHANIE, SHE'S GOT SOUL!!!! God bless her voice, her talent, her sweet dignity. She wasn't the commercial Diva that was cast in the movie, but this was HER song and no one could ever claim it. (Not that I don't love Diana , just not in The Wiz).
