Well, I can't disagree with you about NASA hiding vast amounts of info, perhaps even from exterior sources - but think about this one for a minute. How would you feel about being inside that puddle of shape shifting liquid metal? Certainly flying wouldn't be easy. I think it more likely that these ferrofluids could be used to generate tortion fields by spinning it in a sphere. Alienscientist has done some interesting vids on it.
NASA might have a hard time finding test pilots for this one...
