  • Get the chip off your shoulder!

"For ID" - required to ID every 10 minutes. The "for ID" makes it clear that they are fulfilling the requirement, not asking for a reply.

The NTS (National Traffic System) - you need to handle emergency and priority traffic first, so on a net, you call for it first even if there never is any. Most of the traffic handeled is of trivial nature. However, these people who are practiced in handling the traffice know how to move it through the system when less

  • @kellingc "For ID" is totally useless, giving your call is self evident as an ID. You are not giving your call to make a sandwich. NTS is when a bunch of useless people get together to pass useless traffic and when the real emergency comes 95% of the useless hams prove their uselessness by not showing up or being incompetent.

  • Burt, psychology speaks loads in you Avatar. Dreaming of flying? Its not that you're wrong in every instance, but really Burt, VOX is the best method in a group.. in fact it gives you the chance to see who just called you an OF... Old Fart.

Do a video about being old, wealthy and liking the little chicks you used to teach. I'd love to see it.

  • @skepticalinquier The "chicks" as you call them are totally off limits. Children are to be respected.

  • trivial messages come through (Irean, Katrina, 9/11, red cross emergencies).

Public service - join a club and see how much or little public service is performed. Get involed with ARES or SHARES.

Physical condition of operators - there are a lot of overweight operators, sure. There are a bunch of fit operators, too. I know 2 of them off the top of my head who are avid bike riders, and take their dual band HT's with them, and talk on the repeaters and simplex while riding.

    I could go on.

  • You know... you're right about a lot of this stuff but you are seriously wierd and should be a ham radio operator by your own description of how ham's behave. I think you are actually describing the guy-in-the-mirror. You are indeed the kettle calling the pot black. I'm a ham radio operator of 50 years and do find you entertaining and again, right about much of what you say. Keep up the good work and have fun being wierd.

  • @itsjimmyo Im not heavy and unkept and im a ham. Heck, i have a wonderful girlfriend that i FUCK on a very regular basis...

  • Ha Ha, I like it !!

  • @shreddez You are calling yourself, "bottom-feeding pond scum of youtube users", you are certainly not that
