  • Obama said; "my preference is not to hand off anything". Problem is he has and it's just going to turn out just like Greece. If we don't reverse course quickly you will have Greece in your back yards. Its a FACT. Progressives are leading the nation to its grave.

  • Al Qaeda is closer to the US/Mexican border you cannot imagine. They are leaving Iraq and Afghanistanr and coming accross the atlantic to Venezuela and Nicaragua and Mexico to get closer to the target. I am voting independent next election. Republicans and Democrats are the same BS. Obama has to go, there is no question about it. False promises. Not a single promise fulfilled yet.

  • government run military?

since when the hell else has it been anything but government run? are you suggesting that we hire mercanaries to defend this country?

Government has its place, and that is to provide for national defense and interstate commerce, beyond that, private corporations and citizens should run and control things.

  • yep rome fell,

and so will we, as a matter of fact, we are going down just like rome. And a lot of this is due an evergrowing corruption in Washington and the implementation of both foreign and domestic policies of which we simply can't sustain.

and I got news for you, it was a lot more then just the wars in afghanistan and Iraq

no, we don't spend a trillion per year, thats probably what we have spent so far.

and defense spending is always necessary to begin with.

  • No oolong, THESE ARE YOUR FACTS, and as I said before you are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts.

FACT, WE haven't been attacked since 9/11

FACT, Al Qaeda ( as you spell it) is far more weak then pre-9/11

sorry buddy, there is something called reality that you should really try to accept.

  • sigh.... "socialism" It's obvious that you are brainwashed by our media.

As if anything proposed by congress is actual "socialism". Wake the fuck up you fool.

The difference between the parties is not that far apart. If you paid attention you would see that it's not "Socialism" NOR "capitalism" but rather both sides support "corporatism".

Stop spouting BS about "Socialism" while supporting trillions of dollars to our "government run" millitary to support coporate profits.

  • LOL... I'm comparing the situation to the FALL OF ROME.

Romans lived ok (some of them at least), but the empire fell mainly due to monetary problems and constant never ending military expenditure.

People complain healthcare reform might cost money (it actually saves more money) , but we're spending close to trillion (maybe more) each year on war and defense. We've sank the economy and ran a huge deficit. WE CANNOT SUSTAIN THIS.

Yet the masses are brainwashed into this spending.

  • By every single world estimate terrorism has gotten worse since we invaded Iraq.

Once again this is you being brainwashed by our media.

EVERY single spy agency (including our own) has said the Iraq invasion has made terrorism worse around the world.

Al Qaeda is many times bigger than it was before 911. Our invasion and occupation has been the *best* recruiting tool they have.

Again these are FACTS. Which you woudl have if our media gave them to you, but sadly they do not.

  • I love how you speak of Rome like it was some dark oppressive nation of ancient times

Taking history out of context by describing all of the things they did that are considered horrible by today's standards while completely ignoring the fact that they were the most civilized nation at the time. And Romans generally lived much better lives then their contemporaries....lol so yeah it would be nice for the USA to be like Rome. I want to live well and I don't apologize for that.

  • Hey buddy stop lying your ass off, you know damn well that the death toll is not even close to a million. Stop with the fuckin emotional red herrings.

4k dead soldiers and less then 100k civilians deaths is the price of war, and all things considered...its a smaller price then we have had to pay in the past

as shitty as it is, that is reality.

so basically when we are attacked we shouldn't go to war because war cost too much. So ww2 was wrong....lol you are sad

go hide your head in the sand
