The Making of a Sculpture - Part 1 The Clay Model
Eine Skulptur entsteht - Teil 1 Das Tonmodell

Album: Searchlight
Lyrics:
What makes me walk through Ireland's shrines
And Ireland's holy shores
To see a country crucified
Your beauty crowned in thorns
And as I watch that wonderous cross
That's been hewn down and severed in two
There's something here
That draws me near
To wear the green for you
To see you there blood brother Gael
The face, the tongue my own
Many places in my own country
Could not make me feel more at home
Laughter and music through the night
Your freedom in the dark
Tonight I swear I'd gladly wear
The green next to ma heart
From the long and rolling Antrim hills
Through the wilds of Donegal
The songs of history are sung
Every stone on every wall
But here in our land how can we stand
And wash our hands of shame
When the sins of generations fall
Across the green like rain
Here one world window opens wide
And demons they show face
Some of your men have taken seeds of truth
And planted fields of hate
This way has never won a war
And I fear that when the harvest comes
You'll see your freedom fall on stoney ground
And the green overgrown

  • kur, I absolutely love your work! its some of the best art that I have seen in my life. Ive made one or two sculptures that took me around 3 weeks to finish but I havent even seen anything as good as your work. keep doin this stuff, you have a great talent

  • Thanks, I'm glad you like my work. :)

And don't stop doing artworks, talent is often way overrated, the most important factor in art is practicing.

Good luck and all the best

    Ciao

  • Nice. When I saw the photos I thought it was pretty close to life size. Amazing how you managed to capture a lot in this small size. I like the pose too, a typical lizard pose and is one of the things that is taught first in climbing courses.

  • Thanks, Kiran, glad you like it. The small size was indeed a challenge. Will do it first the same size in limestone, but am planning a full life-size version too. But have to find sponsors first.

  • it is wunderfull ;)

  • Wonderful! This vid makes me want a studio that I can do any type of artwork I desire (photography, sculpture, paint. I never even did a sculpture before but watching you work is very inspiring. You make it look so easy. I can see your love and passion for your craft in the way you work. If you don't mind me asking...What type of clay do you use and what tools....I wanns try this.

  • Cheers Kerpat, had not heard this in such a long time, good detective work, I did not leave you many clues.
