Wow deepdeepspace, this is no advancement, this is the same shit we flew to the moon in during apollo. And shuttles aren't meant to fly to the moon, they were built for near Earth missions like satellite depolyments and to fly to the ISS. With this in mind, its reasonable to assume that is why the shuttles are grounded.

@wwefan774977 and you've really earned the bit of relaxing after landing :D
-
@wwefan774977 because they just re-entered the atmosphere in a russian craft. And the landing didn't look exactly super soft either
-
I suspect NASA does that too, except that it happens inside the Shuttle.
-
Because they are "not used to" the earth's gravity quite yet. You have to remember that two of the crew (not the tourist) have probably spent about 6months in the space station, and even though they train every day, the muscles and skeleton inside your body is significantly weaker than if you were on the earth.
-
why do they arefully move them into a chair and put blankets on them?

Hehehehahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahhh:-D -
Thanks for the info Bulldaawg
Yes this is advancement. You can't send a space shuttle to the moon.
But you can send a soyuz space craft to the moon. As well as the upcoming Orion space craft.

You ignore the fact that crew capacities for the Shuttles are twice that of Soyuz. 14 died on two (out of 122) Space Shuttle missions and 4 died in two (out of 98) Soyuz missions. That's it for in-flight fatalities. Your odds are more or less the same.
