A huge LEGO robot exhibited for a school Open House. It was built by Hua Yi Secondary School sent for NJRC Singapore 2006, Open Category. Among its unique features are its omniwheels n its turntable which can spin 360 with RCX to RCX communication.
Refer to the video response for further explanation + diagrams

Its suppose to be a model of an anti-spy robot tt sends 'e authorised ppl' to e 4th storey of e same or another building. (There r 7 storeys in each building as there r 6 cabins) The 4th storey is e "top secret place". There r no lifts or stairs tt leads to e 4th floor. It can only be excessed externally by this vehicle which can also move to other buildings (all have e same design). So when the cabins r horizontal, they are all levelled to the 4th storey....

There is also a another RCX attached wif rotation n touch sensors tt checks for the right password n sends info to e robot on which "port" to go to. But its not shown here.
Complicated i noe, tt is why i lost in this competition as the jusdges lose interest while i was explaining to them how e system works. A painful lesson, "K.I.S.S"

  • How many RCXs did you use to control that thing?

  • Just the robot itself acctually requires 4 RCXs. But the whole system requires 4 + the 72 RCXs (there are 72 departure ports as shown in the video response) An RCX is needed for password which will send IR waves to the 4 RCXs of the robot to respond.

The password-RCX uses a combination of 2 touch sensors n a rotation sensor. They must be touched/rotated in the correct order n no. of turns

Its not shown here as we don't have that many RCXs! We just present tt to the judges.

  • Ok, this is huge cool and it moves. But what is it?

  • U can check out the details n illustration on my video response to this video
