Derby Day
Derby Day is an event that allows people to have the opportunity to dress up. Animal Role Play ponies, puppies and critters participate in animal role play as trained agility animals and racing animals. Derby Day is a charity event.
Derby Day 2011 is a charity event for S.A.V.E.
They are Silent Animal Voices Echo -- SAVE- and they help abandoned, abused and neglected animals with foster homes, veterinary care, and finding good "forever" homes. They pick up feral kittens and puppies and get them socialized before they become un-adoptable. They also provide transport for animals being adopted, or donor animals and rotation of pets looking for homes to give them a better chance at adoption. SAVE is run entirely by volunteers and on donations or the volunteers' personal contributions.
Participants received a set amount of betting tickets, plus with their betting allowance they could purchase additional betting tickets. All bets are placed before each race. Participants won Cart Rides given by the human animal role players.
For Derby Day 2011 there were containers for each Animal Role Play Enthusiast. A random ticket was drawn out of the container for the winner of the race. Participants had a better chance of winning if they put more tickets in the container than someone else.
