  • is this like the virus ti where it intergrates as a vst on your daw? if yes which one is better for trance and techno

  • No, not at the time of the review, although, all the ingredients are there - in build audio interface, DSP based synth and a USB port. However, I would think that they might have announced this by now...

  • Oh, and I would say the Virus would be better for trance/techno

  • They need to work on character. It is not about how complicated the synthesis process is, unless your into sound design for movies etc.

The truth is, you can make most sounds with just an oscillator, amp, filter and lfo. My advice is to spend time really learning advanced synthesis techniques, rather than spend money on the latest contraption. Then suddenly you'll find yourself making good use of even the crappiest synthesizers.

  • I just bought one a week and a half ago, and it sounds more analog than any VA I've ever heard. I have a Radias and Virus, love 'em both, but The O has pushed them aside for the most part. The Minimoog is VERY close, and programmable. Being modular, you can make any number of different sounding synths. I think the only thing close in power is a Kurzweil PC3, and I bet the Origin sounds more analog. But then, that's my next purchase. ;D

Excellent synth, Arturia! Now, for that CS-80 model...

  • none of these companies

put analog filters on their digital synths like ensoniq did 20 years ago. It wouldn't hurt.
