Here is the Channel 8 news story covering our spring break detail which focused on vendors who sell alcohol to minors. Clackamas County Sheriffs Office, Molalla Police Department, Canby Police Department, and OLCC partnered on the project. Cadets attempted to purchase alcohol from vendors throughout the county. Out of 123 attempts to purchase alcohol, 25 buys were made. This represents 20% of all sales. In 2008, a similar sting was done with 30 out of 103 establishments selling to minors. The reduction in sales from 30% in 2008 to just above 20% in 2009 reflects that we are working in the right direction, says Clackamas County Sergeant Ed Mura, project lead.
Responsible sellers who did not sell to minors received a congratulatory letter and sticker to predominately place in their facility. Funding for this detail was made available from the Clackamas Safe Communities program.
Yeah, selling alcohol to adults, what a tragedy.

No...he won't make that mistake again. However his attitude towards police officers will change. This activity destroys the "policemen are your friends" and the "serve and protect" association. It harbors in a feeling that police are out to get you. Particularly when they target waiters and waitresses. These people do not want to sell to a minor but everyone can have a senior moment when busy. These are women trying to work their way through school. This is unethical.
