And as a comment to the actions of Hitler; He was without doubt a christian, although he was raised in a catholic household. Here's a quote from "Mein Kampf" (which I strongly recommend to read):

"...defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord".

Horrible killings, again, in the name of the "lord".

Slaughter, child molestation, slavery, rape, and more, is well covered in the bible. Who slaughtered his son to show his trust to god?

Thanks for your facts, Cyberwaffles! These numbers are huge, and they're not in any way "better" than those killed under the name of god. Killing will always be bad, but these horrible dictators, that humans can see and later punish, gave their soldiers orders. In your case, a "heavenly dictator" that only a limited number of people claim to know the orders of, have killed, and will continue to kill. And worst of all; You're all praising this horrible god!

ding ding ding...that's the answer. just because you couldn't possibly fathom why someone would have interest in us if they were the creator, it still doesn't negate at least it's possible existence. humans create things all the time, and usually the creation doesn't dictate to the creator but the creator to the creation. it's not hard to understand.

trust me pal, i've been an atheist before and if anything, science confirmed to me that there has to be a God of some sort. it goes beyond looking through a telescope, or accepting every biased science experiment in the world.

if i remember correctly, Marxism was created in the 1920's, not before that so i don't see how it applies to the same situation with that Russian Czar.

and finally, cambodia killed over one million people in the mid '70's. so lets see, out of all the defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th century because

of gun control governments: 56 million, of which over 40 million were in Communist controlled countries and 13 million in nazi controlled contries. that's over 95% under socialist/atheist controlled governments.

how are these atheistic sick minded dictatorships and government any better than those killed under religion?

to be more precise in these killings, most of the dictators would mandate gun control before they killed people. for example, in 1929, the communist Soviet Union established gun control and from 1929 to

1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. turkey established gun control in 1911 and from 1915 to 1917, they have killed over 1.5 million people. china from 1948-1952 killed over 20 million people. Guatemala and Uganda over 400,000.

also, you claiming that religion has killed off more people than non-theistic organizations doesn't justify the inhumanity they did against the world. hitler has killed over 11 million people, 6 million of them being jews who horrifically died in the holocaust, all in the matter of less than a decade. stalin killed as many as 20 million, even his own country men. Mussolini killed 300,000 in ethiopa and during in WW2.
