The devastating details of a long ago war are eloquently presented in this documentary. The Crimean War: A Clash of Empires is a well-researched look into the conflict that shook Europe during the years 1853-56. The bloody conflict that pitted Russia against a large European coalition is shown here to be part of a chain of long-held antagonisms that continue to this day. Perhaps of all the things we remember of this confrontation, the only positive aspect that emerges is the appearance of Florence Nightingale.

@Danmara Evil... Britain, France & the Ottomans were hardly the evil side. It was Russia who started the war by needless & with greed attacked the Ottomans. Britain & France for their own reasons came to the aid of the Ottomans. With that fact stated clearly by this documentary & me repeating, how can you get off saying the British, French & Ottomans were, "The Axis of Evil"??? I think your point of view is very bias.

This must have been a horrific time! Governments total disregard for there own troops is astonishing and how the same governments use the media to propagandize the war as some adventure.

These things still happen today.

@NormanLowell "whites" hold no special place in slaughtering each other (or anyone else). When someone speaks of the "white race" it sets my hackles on end... as it does when any other "race" is spoken of in general terms, or commentary on "saving it" (from what, other races?). This is (or seems to be at least) very bigoted
