@Luis6K : Maybe around 5 hp. These 5.0 are low performance, high torque, motors that don't respond much to mods. I have one, like it a lot, but if you want power you gotta nitrous or change to mustang 5.0 motor, etc.

I have an 87 Cougar XR7 I just got some straight pipes installed form the headers down Cats are gone Flowmaster each pipe with chrome tips how much extra horse power should I expect?..thanx

My first car was actually a Mercury Cougar, they are actually a "luxury" car. Very very nice cars. I liked mine a lot.
