PART 3 of 3: A quality made tactical Crossdraw vest is a excellent option to carry a limited weapons loadout and associated gear. Nutnfancy says you should always work backwards in deciding on an appropriate Load Bearing Equipment (LBE) system; just dont buy a tactical nylon vest and try to fill it up. Always think in systems. Realistically evaluate what tactical capabilities you will need in regards to ammo, secondary armaments (handgun, knives, non-lethal options like pepper spray and Asp batons), optics, food, first aid, etc. This equipment might be essential for many defensive scenarios such as the collapse of the Rule of Law (ROL), US military combat operations, and some Law Enforcement scenarios as well.. Tailoring these items to your anticipated engagement scenario will prevent excess weight carried and will improve your mobility and stamina. Dont carry more than you will need. There are indeed lots load bearing systems available now from different makers and many offer excellent versatility, toughness, and cargo capability. If you could be engaged in a knock-down-drag-out, full-on firefight in Afghanistan then there are better loadout systems than a Crossdraw vest. However either a BlackHawk or TacForce brand Crossdraw vest will suit most civilian sheepdogs and even some military or Law Enforcement users. Its benefits are numerous: no extra pouches to buy and configure, adequate ammo capabilities for both pistol and tactical carbine (for many scenarios), comfort in use, ability to adjust to clothing layering, accommodation of CamelBak bladder, accessory pouches and interior zip pouches hold additional gear, breathable mesh is comfortable and lightweight (unlike many heavier solid Cordura vests), high traction shoulder pad for rifle butt placement (mod shown), excellent and versatile handgun holster, fast zipper donning and doffing, back BTS webbing offers versatility, web belt attachment expands capabilities, and overall it is a lightweight load carrying option. Downsides of a Crossdraw vest might include: slower handgun access and replacement, no provisions for body armor integration, and the Velcro attachments will wear out and can get snow-clogged (from experience). But such a vest remains a cost effective, versatile, high-value GRAB AND GO gear solution for a wide variety of combat scenarios and it has withstood the test of time.////////////////////Please Note: Sorry for the bounciness of the camera in parts. It is difficult to film a large item like this and show adequate detail simultaneously. A tripod was not flexible enough for the views needed and did not work for that.

  • Don't be jerk. You simply have a differing philosophy. I don't agree 100% w/ his and tend to lean towards firepower.

That said, NutnFancy is a great reviewer. I, for one, am very grateful for his reviews.

That said, I'm not sure I would go with a Crossdraw. I would likely go with a 6 dbl pouch vest, and put the holster on an attached webbelt. On the other side would go a dump pouch on the belt. If the belt attaches to the vest, then I'd just keep them together. Still would be a grab'n'go setup

  • I know you're obsessive about weight and all, and I'm 99% with you on the high-speed low-drag thing, you are out of line when it comes to ammo.

You're seriously suggesting carrying HALF as much ammo to save weight? Sorry man, you're wrong. Weird things happen, and I know I never want to say the words "I'm out of ammo." This point right here is where your obsession with cutting weight crosses the line from hard-ass to dumb-ass. You gotta, must, have to, have enough ammo!!!

  • @danberumen yes . so wouldnt be fair if we put firearms to blame. murders would kill you any way , the gun is just a tool

  • @waseem1173 true but if there were no guns everyone would just use a bow or a sword, violence is unavoidable in civilization.
