As you stereotype, you stereotype yourself as an angry NYer- very pretentious- you apparently think you're somehow "better" than others & have the all knowing power 2 pick & choose who "deserves" 2 live there. I hope U realize the good you have in NY. You have drug dealers, murderers and rapists too! (I do know about gentrification) but ur anger might be helped by education. & anyone who disagrees isn't automatically "a yuppie" that's called "ignorance." & paired w/ anger, it's especially sad.

Take an Econ class! Anyone can hate- but what I have always loved about NY (one of the many things) is the fact that people AREN'T rude there. I've lived in 5 states and wherever I go I cannot match the hospitable or friendly people I have met in NY. Sure, there's some that aren't that way- that give NYC a bad name. All over the US people have holed NYers as "assholes" due to the stereotype you are displaying.

Punks, hipsters, muscians, execs, artists, business etc are what make our diverse community. (and many more) and if it weren't for yuppie tourists especially, the city of New York INCLUDING Brooklyn would be MUCH worse off. You don't think yuppies traveling in by the millions each yr has an effect on cleaning up crime or generating revenue?

I'm not a yuppie. I'm an artist/chef from NYC area. Alot of people litter- in fact it's more prevalent in poor communities. I'm a hard worker and I love NY more than any other place in the world. I'm not rich by any standards. So take your misdirected anger issue elsewhere. Putting people in boxes so you can direct your anger at them? Sure "yuppies" are irritating as hell... but they have a positive aspect like bringing revenue into an area, in which local people will benefit.
