Though the scope of his world is limited to the neighbors in his building (a widower with a cranky guardian angel; a down-on-his-luck magician; a seductive woman; a newly single man; and a rebellious little boy), he quickly discovers that the complexities of life can't be arranged in the pages of a discount book.
