Babylon 5 - Marcus and Ivanova - Frail

Music video for my all-time favorite couple from any series - Marcus Cole and Susan Ivanova. Yes, I know I've already made an MV for these two. But that particular MV that I made over a year ago was my very very first one. I've learned a lot since then about movie editing, so I wanted to come back and give proper attention to these two characters.

Most importantly: I have edited this MV such that it can be fully enjoyed by both the non-viewer and the super-fan.

I used scenes from seasons 3 and 4.

Sheridan: "This is Marcus. He's a..."
Ivanova: "A ranger. They've been trained to fight the shadows and keep an eye on what's happening outside Babylon 5."

Ivanova: "You haven't said much since we came aboard."
Marcus: "I don't usually speak unless I have something to say."
Ivanova: "Then we have something in common."

Delenn: "And you...do you believe this?"
Marcus: "I stopped believing in miracles a long time ago, Ambassador. Part of the heart goes dead, it's best to leave it that way."

Lorien: "Skepticism is a language of the mind. What does your heart tell you?"
Ivanova: "My heart and I don't speak anymore."

Ivanova: "I have responsibilities."
Marcus: "And what of responsibilites to yourself?"
Ivanova: "I don't remember authorizing a change in discussion to include my personal life."
Marcus: "I have to be authorized to talk to you like a person? Just what is it you're running from?"

Marcus: "It's hard to know who to trust. And a situation like this makes you afraid. Makes you want to reach out to someone who may just feel the same way as you do about things. Who might be willing to risk *this much* to help you...when the rest of the world couldn't give a damn."

Marcus: "Computer: Contact Babylon 5. I want a full search of medical records, searching keywords dealing with terminal illness, death, and extreme measures. Download to my password only."

Dr. Franklin: "Even this brief exposure....a few seconds apiece confirms that the alien healing device is extremely dangerous and should not be used again. It does this by transferring life energy from one person to another. In cases of fatal illness or injury, for one person to live, the other must die."

Ivanova: "Dammit, Stephen, why the hell did he have to do it?"

Ivanova: "And there he was next to me.... And we were hooked into that damned machine, and...."

Ivanova: "All love is unrequited, Stephen. All of it."

Most of the music videos I've seen for B5 have been so crappy, it wasn't worth watching. This one was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The love between them was so frail and could have been so deep, but both were too scared to do anything. They are a good example of why to take chances.

Its common to say, Londo is the most tragic character of Babylon 5, but Susan is a close match. She only opened her heart two times in the 4 years we did watch her life, and before she even could admit it, both loves were taken from her by death. She never opened her heart again and became a grumpy old soldier.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scene at 4:02 OMG it's the most memorable scene ever. Susan was all messed up but still the most beautiful moment in her Babylon 5 career in my opinion. thanks so much for posting this vid.
