  • Love shaw bros movies never be forgoten can relive the memories thru youtube im fan of golden harvest aswell but shaw bros will never be forgotten thank you for the greatest movies ever made in this genre and some of the finest actors ever to grace the screen :)

  • just pure classic awesomeness

  • @rockuvages I think it was.We used to have a "Black Belt Theatre" on one of the local UHF channels in town and those movies with the promenade were all they showed (for the most part).

  • When you see this logo and hear this music across the screen, you KNOW the movie you are about to watch is going to be TOTALLY AWSOME!!!!!!

  • @rockuvages Type "World-Northal" in the search block. That's the one with "Promenade".

  • @MrUnidyne -Ah! *Where'd* you Find it??

  • @rockuvages I checked. World-Northal used the opening bars from "Promenade".

  • @MrUnidyne - I think i tracked down one of them- A company called World Northal. Ring a bell? I *think* that was the one that used the snare drum intro.

Unfortunately, (as of now), I don't think it's on YT anymore. :( I noticed its been yanked.

  • @MrUnidyne I'm having a hell of a time finding either on YT. I don't think Golden Harvest is the one though. The drums I recall weren't kettle/ tympani (unless GH changed it at some point). It was a single snare drum that was hit in a steady rhythm til it faded out. (& I think w. a little reverb)

The one using "Promenade" was def' a company that did kung fu flicks. Unless my memory is shot, I don't recall it being NWP. Any links?

  • @rockuvages The first you described is Golden Harvest (used in the 1970's). I believe the second is New World Pictures when it was under the administration of Roger Corman (The music used was the opening bars of "Promenade" from Modeste Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition").
