@kesslerj actually the standard for this is kipping pull ups, ive told you this several times but you fail to comprehend that very important piece of information
RPK...why don't we have a program out there where instead of doing squats we'll just do qtr squats and call that the standard. then if we want to do actual squats we'll call them full squats. that's basically what you're saying. so stupid. a pull up is a pull up. what they are doing are not pull ups. kip ups are better than nothing but they are not pull ups. the workout calls for pull ups so do them.
Awesome work guys! I don't like the music but you guys kicked butt. I don't think I could do that many kip up or pull ups. Why are all these people hating on you guys? Nice work, makes me want to get off my lazy butt
if the workout says to do pull ups do pull ups. why not do body squats? just record what you do and then compare, right Beno? hell, let's do burpees, that involves even more muscles and record em and compare to next time. THE WORKOUT SAYS PULLUPS, NOT KIP UPS. do the workout right.
For any that is commenting on the kipping pull-ups try them and if you hips and abs don't give out before you reach 21 then your not doing something rite... you guys should be encouraging instead of trying to tear them down... that's hard work they just put in... I know it has encouraged me to bust my hump 2mro cause I'm doing the Fran... wanna see if I can go 135lbs on the thrusters and be under 5mins I already feel the burn coming... congratulate don't hate their success.
I think cross-fit is great. No matter how much easier kip-ups are than regular pull-ups, still doesn't make a sub 3:00 Fran easy by any means. I think once somebody can do it full range under 3:00, then by all means nit pick all day. Until you can I suggest just do the workout and enjoy the increase in fitness
