  • As a kid, this opening really was creepy. The glowing eyes, smile and "X-men!"

And even if you took your eyes away to play another arcade game, you'd still hear it every two minutes. If you didn't hear "X-men" you'd definitely hear that ship's WHOOSH - which was the loudest noise in the game. It was really distracting for some reason.

  • Wolverines fucking arms.

Goddamn it, I lose my shit every time I see them.

  • 10.00 on the PSN

  • @PeppRmintBUDy Beast would probably goi on arampage and hopefully Rogue's special won't be like Capcom's Goodnight Suga where she'll kiss someone to steal their powers, but who knows Konami may include that for comedic value alone. :D

  • @David315842 Oh i absolutely agree with what u said and i do vaguely remember watching Pryde online a few years back. Wonder how it wouldve been if they'd used the cast/setting of the 90s X-Men series. I can already picture JUBILEE, JEAN, and GAMBIT's attacks but it would be interesting to see what ROGUE and BEAST wouldve done for their mutant power (LOL).

  • @David315842 But yes Konami did a great job on this game. :)

  • @PeppRmintBUDy You're right, sorry. But still as I said I did mention a few valid points, if you watch Pryde of the X-Men, you'll see what I mean. The funny thing is that pilot was made in 1989, Konami didn't make the game till 1992, ironically enough the same year that Saban and Marvel's X-Men animated series debued on TV.

  • @David315842 ...There was never a question to begin with...

  • @PeppRmintBUDy Well then you just answered your own query then haven't you. The game was mearily licensed to another company on Konami's behalf, anyway what I said about the game being old and such is still valid.

  • @David315842 Konami didnt add anything new because Activision currently has the license to X-Men videogames and legally they couldnt add anything. They're only sprites and it wouldve been so easy to load the game up with tons of new stages and characters as well as updating the existing characters' uniforms to match more recent times.

It just seemed like another case where 2 companies couldve worked together to create something great and just didnt (or couldnt).

  • @PeppRmintBUDy It was re-released on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. The game didn't have updated characters since this game was based on the pilot episode 'Pryde of the X-Men' which was supposed to have been a full series, but it never emerged, so they pretty much used most of the avaliable characters and this game is nearly two decades old, I dount Konami would add anything to it now. The only difference is that the voices have been re-recorded, but they keapt the obvious flaws.
