Ok, the camera finally went kaput but I wanted to post this to finish up this series for now. This is a compilation showing short bits of some irrigation pipe I buried to provide a spigot at one of the sheds. It's not deep so the water has to be vaccummed out every winter but it's not a big deal with a shop vac. Then I show plumbing for a pool solar heater panel. Started out expanding the pergola or arbor on the deck to 20 feet to hold it but after seeing how much shade it cast in the house, I decided to put it on the roof and use the arbor for hanging plants, chimes and just for looks. Also short tidbits of a arbor bench in the garden I made using scraps from the first 10 foot deck arbor as well as some new wood.
A ongoing chronology of work I've done myself around the house. Learned a lot online from others so maybe others like me will be interested in seeing how it all went for me. It started about the year 2000 and continues to this day. If it's available, watch in high quality. These were old analog tapes recoded to digital.

  • actually the codes are the same, what we did was a little different, we move the pool about 7' from the deck, we built a bridge with a gate and round up the pool with the deck, below the bridge my wife put a "zen" garden with a bench and a little path.. at the end we liked it.

  • sounds really nice. i thought of a bridge early on but didn't do it.

  • Hey man, why dont build a deck around the pool so that you can have a even space for deck and integrate it with the pool??? Cool videos!!!

  • because then, by code, you need a separate locked gate going to the pool so kids don't fall in the pool after coming out of the house. don't want to go through all that. the extra gate would take up more space and cut down on the view. maybe your codes are different...

  • How well does it heat your pool?

  • don't know for sure but I would guess 5 to 10 degrees higher based on readings without it. depends on how much sun I get though.
