Xfire Vs Fraps Comparison

I got into a discussion with an associate on what's better for recording and I was bored so I made this little video with footage using xfire video and fraps video in game recording.
It also allowed me to have fun with my video editing software and practice for future videos. Look forward to them.

As a side note: Xfire's codec doesn't play well when you attempt to convert it to h264(mp4) but fraps does just fine.

PS: UT 3 is awesome.

... MY fraps lags .. My pc is good i5 quad gtx 560 1gb 4 gb ram.. People say its HDD .. So what should i do with it?

@Frag3r99 Even if you're using a "slow" 5400rpm drive, it wouldn't lag due to recording speed. Most likely it's either due to you recording at a lower frames per second than you usually play games at and it looks laggy, or your graphics settings in the game in question are high enough that when you add fraps' recording to it, it makes it choppy.

@Falco164 Well it don't lag when recording Garrysmod, Team fortress2.. But it lags when homefront, battlefield3... Usually bf3 has 50-120 fps on High And 50-80 on ultra... But it has fps drops when record.. it doesn't lag all time only fps drops..

Maybe its cuz 32 bit home premium windows 7 ? Because my pc is powerfull enough

For Valve Source Games, like Left 4 Dead, use demo recording... (record ~filename~, stop, etc.), than in the demo playback, use XFire... that's what I do...

Fraps, owns in quality, and if you have a good GPU power, you can handle good with it.... i have a verry good pc and make cod movies with fraps, i have awesome quality.... i am still not glad with my quality... but it is good enough, i edit it with sony vegas pro 10, best editing program, i use fraps version 3.4.6, latest version....

If you guys realy like high defenition gaming movies... then you should look at mine, but i am very bad in cod, so dont blame on me that i SUCK XDDDD
