I read several books at the same time all the time! I read a quote that when you read several books a time one feeds the other. I loved Three Cups Of Tea, and Looking For Alaska and Fahrenheit 451. Right now, I'm reading a biography of Benjamin Disraeli (British prime minister), a historical romance mystery by Lauren Willig (The Betrayal of the Blood Lily), Mark Twain's The Innocents Abroad, Anthony Trollope's The Belton Estate and Paperweight by Stephen Fry. I have a thing for English stuff.

good but i wouldn't recommend reading 6 books at once. I wouldn't remember all of it

My kind of people, reads numerous books at one go. Fahrenheit 451 is an excellent book. It got me interested in collecting books and building my own library.
I have 2 recommendations at the moment.
-Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon by Jorge Amado
-Enemies, a love story by Isaac Bashevis Singer
