Today's tip: Don't bite on the Shot Fake! If you're constantly jumping up and trying to block every shot, you will find yourself giving up many more easy shots to the other team and fouling them in the process. Our suggestion is to stay on the floor and make it extremely tough for the other team to get a good shot off. Effectively bringing their shooting percentage down instead of chasing that one potential block you might get. Challenge actual shots and make the shooter change their shot.

  • Coach is it really true that some "slow twitch" muscles can decrease your vertical,my friend said to me that his dad told to him that if you are jogging that slow twitch" muscles will become stronger and you will use onlly them in is it really true?

  • im guilty of this because i love blocking people lol. i find that if i stay grounded more often that im less likely to get called for the foul and they wont get around me as easy, just as it was said in the vid. thanks for the tip

  • When its close I fake jump, meaning I go on my tip toes so they think i jumped and then they'll go for the shot, WALLA EASY BLOCK :)

  • @imawsomeness1 If you belly up to the shooter it is very bothersome on their shot. This technique is called "Walling Up" and this keeps you from fouling the shooter, but makes it more difficult for them to make the shot. Get Belly-Button to Belly-Button on them!

  • @imawsomeness1 you still contest the shot, but you don't jump on the fake. A contested shot with hands in their face is tough to make. If you jump up, you may block them, but chances are VERY good you'll foul them.
