Mrs. Elizabeth Crotty is matriarch to the modern concertina player, a key player in the 1950's. She favored the key of C and enjoyed ornamenting tunes with doubled octaves. This is presumably a hornpipe from her repertoire (rather than one named in honor of her), and I would assume it's a traditional tune associated with her rather than a tune that she wrote. It's got some similarities to the Staten Island hornpipe, which may be why I slipped into playing this a bit too fast - I like what came out though, regardless of tempo, so that's what you get this week.
This is the 39th installment of my 52-week hornpipe home-recording project. Thanks for listening.
Your going well, keep up the good work!
