And so it was in 1973 that record producer Ian Samwell invited me to join a band he was putting together called 'Hummingbird'. And that was where I first met keyboard wizard Max Middleton, who to this day remains one of my favourite musicians - and so I have written and performed this piece in memory of him - despite the fact that he's still alive.
