Iago's Villain Speech (Act II Scene III)

Ignore the bad mic quality, as i know it isn't that good.

Comments would be greatly appreciated (as this is one of my speeches for auditions).

  • I feel that, although not perfect, that this gets the mischievous, deceiving, backstabbing character of iago across well. Maybe try and change the pace at times in the speech though.

  • I think u hv did a good job~thankyou for uploading :)

  • I think some of the comments are biased a bit. It's up to the actor to choose how he wishes to portray the character. For example, to say his pauses and emphasis's are ill-timed or out of place is subjective, not objective. I think its a find rendition that could maybe be improved by a bit of change in variance of tone. Maybe more menacing, as I didn't feel that threatened by the speech. The laugh is fine by my standards and preferences. :)

I hope my criticism helps, man. :D

  • It's PRO-ball... not PROB-UL... just so you are aware. You need a bit of work on your deliverance, merely on your pacing....and try and make your voice more subtle and varied.... that and try not to make him so pantomime villain... he's a genius nemesis... not jafar.

  • @Bankotsu87 Try going through the script and underlining all the key words and put emphasise on those. However, don't ignore the rest of the words as every single word is important, - if they weren't Shakespeare would never have put them there! As an actor I often have to do Shakespeare myself and I find this useful, so I hope it helps you.
