Upcoming Events: Long Beach Convention Center and Visitor's Bureau advertises the "Stop Wasting Water" message while promoting upcoming events.

That is "Wyland's Whaling Wall" behind the Performing Arts Center on the outside of the convention center (The AquariumOfPacific.org is a short walk away as are many great restaurants).

I actually got the "Bright Idea" to do this when I saw "E Hula Mau" in lights. I promoted them heavily on TPSradio in the past and wanted to do something this year because downtown LB turns into "Oahu" (The Gathering Place) for many Pacific Islanders. I see FEW haoles attend, let's change that, yes? Visit namamo.org and press your Haw'n shorts and mu'muu's!

BTW, I recorded the sign with my HD Flip recorded on Sunday and noticed that the sign was dismantled on Monday - perhaps they are fixing the blue square.

PS I love the Stop Wating Water message. Don't YOU?

  • There is a Long Beach Comic Con coming to the Convention Center in October that I am VERY excited about!

  • I lived in Long Beach for a couple of years and I remember watching the marquis to see what was going on. This has kind of made me homesick. I used to watch this with my little daughter as we walked up and down Ocean Blvd.

Siento nostalgia al ver esta marquesina pues yo la veia con mi hijita cuando caminabamos de arriba a abajo por Ocean Blvd.
