personally i love jack whites guitar playing its not always about technicality as much as it is about soul and he plays with a lot of that in my mind jack white is one of the last few true blues guitarists and also one of the greats

I never noticed that he removed one of his pickups from his mont, weird

you people who think jack white is not a good guitarist and/or musician are out of your f-ing minds. but everyone has theyre own opinion. i love him and i think he is absolutely amazing

I think a lot of people think too much.

@JustPetre If you can make music that people like and express yourself with a guitar, then you are doing a good job using it. Meaning jack white is good at guitar. I'm done.

I will admit I am not his biggest fan but he handles the guitar with a lot of passion.
Notes/style are a matter of taste, but I will give him his props.

Different strokes. Nothing wrong with that. But do not call that clown a good guitarist. It's an insult to intermediate players everywhere and even some beginners.
Call him creative. I think my creative juices are flowing now too. Somebody fetch me a 2x4, mic and a coke bottle! I hear a new song in my head!

@JustPetre Yeah, I just watched it the other day actually. he didn't look like that at all. They had a lot of fun jamming and Jack white isn't trying to shock the audience. He's just expressing himself in a way that he wants to, that also has a unique sound. He knows what he's doing and has a wide knowledge of music and blues. Maybe you wouldn't do it in the same way that he does, but he's doing what a musician should do. What he wants. And I love the sound of his playing.

Did you see Page in the docu, "It might get loud"?
Whenever Jack Shite played it looked like Page was going to laugh or throw up.
So you almost got it right.
When I was a kid, I knew what I wanted to play... then I actually got the talent to do more than make noise without really knowing what I was doing. Jack hasn't gotten there yet. He's like the Lady Gaga of guitar (without the talent) Do what shocks the audience. People rarely look away from train wrecks as well

Oh no, I completely agree. Half of the people these days hear music, and the other half listen. The half that listen do so too closely, and let the notes override the music; the former half don't care what the music is, as long as it has a steady, simple beat.
Honestly, he's not a bad player, and he can do a lot better than I could, and I do like some of the riffs in their songs, but his soloing... I guess isn't my cup of tea.
why compare white stripes to metallica or eddie van halen? completely different music... they are all great in their own way
