@delant01That's the one! Many thanks indeed. I remember its extraordinary energy and stylization, and Peoples' Gene Vincent 'attitude' on the sleeve pic. I'll try and hunt down a vinyl copy.
@drfez100 That' the album I was referring to in that other post. It was released in 1976 on Shanachie Records. There was a remastered version released in 1994 which I am told has inferior sound quality, rather tinny compared to the vinyl original. I love the sheer ferocity and panache of Peoples' playing on his record.... The album has been criticised for not having enough variations in pace, but to me, this was the trad version of the best the Ramones could do in breakneck playing
@delant01 Perhaps you can help...I remember being in Ireland in late 70's and coming across a wonderful album by Tommy Peoples: it had a quite extraordinary head shot of him on the sleeve sporting a slicked-back quiff. Any idea which album this was?
!st Steve Cooney guitar piece good - reminiscent of John Renbourn's and Bert Jansch's experimentations with early modal music. But a little of the lad on the whistle goes a very long way.

The first tune is The Kid on the Mountain. Tommy Peoples has a wonderful solo fiddle version of it on his album The High Part of the Road.

Saw Steve do this tune at the weekend in Carrig On Bannow, magical to hear the pipes coming out through the guitar! :)
