A slide show of photographs from my 2 solo motorcycle trips that took me through Kazakhstan, a very interesting and under-stated place that who's people and land has suffered through the hands of greed and abuse, I rode one trip by conventional routes & my second trip through the deserts, & to the Aral sea, http://travelbymotorcycle.wordpress.com/

Cheers for sharing your excellent selection of photos. As one of your fellow traveller in that damn jeep I know how much effort it took to get to (and get back from) what was left of the Aral Sea. Glad we did it and saw those ships before it was too late - doubt they are there now. Good luck on your future travels and keep posting them for all to see.

cool slideshow mate and a very desolate but beautiful landscape. Makes me realize how lucky I am when you see some of these people with hardly a pot to piss in.

I am from Chile, do you know where this beatiful country is? Is in south america, and we have a lot of beautiful and inspiring places that you must see... we have desert, snow, beach, mountains etc... Maybe, we can organize a trip for this region, its really a lovely place for motorcicles and adventures...

South America is on the map for me, and a good friend and riding partner's father lives in Brazil .. I am considering several more trips and places... soon as firm plans are in progress for your region I will be sure to contact you.. but it will not be this year.. I will no doubt need to learn some Spanish first..

Re question about home..Nothing beats camping in middle nowhere on yer own..it soothes the soul..and puts it all in perspective.. home is just somewhere to earn money & plan the next trip.. : )
