John McCain answering Pastor Rick Warren's question, "At what point is a baby entitled to human rights?" at the Saddleback Presidential Civil Forum on August 16, 2008. Video by Bumpshack.com. Copyright Phoenix Publishing, LLC
The bible states Jesus is God, but also his son. I don't even begin to claim I can understand, but I know that Jesus is NOT God, in that he is his son, so he IS. I am a portion of my father, because I am his son. They are 3 beings in 1, so I would not say Jesus specifically made the law in the Old Testiment. Furthermore, God himself revealed the new commandments to Moses on the Mount, which you clearly skipped over in your crusade against the bible.
In fact, if you just read on in Matthew 15, Jesus clearly states that murder defiles a person. So then, explain to me how he could have just said people should kill women and children?
It doesn't make sense. Kill them. Killing is a sin, and defiles you. But kill them?
You really need to do more reading, and not try to attach your agenda to everything. Your eyes will open up.
There again, you wish to beat this point to death. What you obviously can't seem to comprehend is Old English. If you read new translations and apply various versus whenever you feel like it, you could make the bible say that aliens are invading.
One of the many tools of Satan to attempt to confuse the world.
Simply put, Jesus was referencing the old law and pointing out that the Pharisees were hypocrites for trying to condemn him for not washing his hands. Read the whole chapter first.
So you don't believe the verse that commands parents to kill their children should be part of the Bible? Why don't you rip that verse out of your Bible? Not only will you have to throw away the book of Exodus, but you'll have to throw away Matthew too, since Jesus teaches this in Matthew 15:4.
Quoting a bunch of positive things about the bible does not make the negative things disappear.
You can quote John 3:16 all day, but IT DOES NOT make commands to kill children go away from the bible.
You don't believe Jesus is the god who said this in the OT:?
"Anyone who curses or hits his father or mother must be put to death." [Mthw 15:4; Ex 21:15,17]
Gee that's nice kill your kids over mere words!
It's funny, because Jesus claims he is the very OT god who said that. Before Abraham was "I AM." [John 8:58] That's exactly how the OT god referred to himself: as "I AM." [Exodus 3:14]
So if Jesus is the god of the OT, please explain why you think he's a such nice merciful guy?
Not to mention the fact that you didn't even answer the question I posed. Explain to me, logically, how Jesus would command people to murder, when he clearly showed mercy to countless sinners on earth, continues to do so, and pardoned the thief on the cross right before he died?
You cannot. You can attempt to portray the bible in any fashion by taking a select amount of versus, but that is scary territory, and God does not appreciate slander.
It's clear to me that you don't get out of Numbers very much. Futhermore, sending me private messages claiming how you have a great revelation of scripture isn't going to work either.
You're a nutjob if you think the bible tells us to kill women and children. Everything you reference is in regards to direct commands to a specific group of people. Not to us, now. You cannot take every verse in the bible and apply it to life, otherwise, we are clothed with shame and should be nude, too.
God bless you John McCain ! <333

Well let's see...
1. Because he sent his son to die for humanity so that we all may be spared from Hell.
2. Because he gave humanity a chance after they had disgraced him so. (Noah's ark)
3. He gave Abraham and Lott the opportunity to escape Soddom before it was burned to the ground, and was willing to spare the city after he was asked.
4. There are countless individuals who were helped or spared throughout the bible, including, as I said earlier, the thief.
Yet you point to a verse. HA.
