At least Punk can be classified as music unlike hiphop/rap that has absolutely NO INSTRUMENTS, its just a poem with a digitally mixed beat behind it. Punk also a lot of the time has political messages unlike rappers these days that rap about money girls and booze.

people who talk shit about punk probably dont play an instrument at all and never will cuz they're too busy running their mouth quoting some ganster shit or something lame like that. fuck em. they are too dumb to understand how to really write a song.
