Windows Server 2008 R2 has reached it's RC (Release Candidate) milestone and those of you on MSDN and TechNet Plus can download today. Ward Ralston taliking to Technet Edge and an interview that was supposed to be a 5 minute chat about R2 and ended up around 20 minutes. This guy loves what he does and it shows. Ward brings us up to speed on what is new in Windows Server 2008 R2 for us IT Pro guys and share how his experience as an IT Pro impacts how he views the new features.
I like the concept in general of an AD recycle bin, however it is an Server 2008 R2 only feature, so you must raise the domain functional level of your PC to R2. If you run any previous version of server on another machine you are shit out of luck. It's not a bad idea, however creating a recycle bin would only congest disk space. Unless of course you enforce a strict disk quota policy then it may not be such a problem.
