~this saw is a piece of junk and a complete let down by Stihl. You can't add a more aggressive chain to it and it is completely cheap. I bought a 1977 Mccullock which blows this thing away~

idk dude i thought it did just great i own one and i use it ALOT more then i use my ms 270 or my ms 660 ms 170 is a EXCELLENT saw but i also have a 16 inch bar on it so it makes it a little easier to cut
